Feel Like It's Diwali with OPPO F3

This might sound a bit crazy to you, but colours influence our mood and decision-making a lot more than you might expect them to. There’s an actual research subject known as colour psychology, which is looking into the effects of colours on us as humans. Many brands and designs have used colour theory to improve their presence and their likeability. From the entire spectrum of colours, I know that you will agree with me when I say that red is the most bold and powerful colour of all.

Red signifies love, passion, courage, sensitivity, and radiance. So I’m going to say it: red is my favourite colour. Or at least for now, and that is because I am absolutely obsessed with it. I even got my hair coloured red (you can check it out on my Instagram @caughtinacuff). So I fed this obsession with my new red #OPPOF3 Diwali edition smartphone.

Okay so I’m not just obsessed with its colours, but damn, the features are so good. The phone is an absolute stunner, there’s no doubt about that – it works with all my outfits! I’ve been using the phone literally all day. I can’t be separated from my phone for even a moment, and even more so since I got the red OPPO F3 from their Diwali edition. They have designed the wallpaper and icons to correspond with the lights and the brightness that the festival of Diwali is known for. It is based on Android 6.0 and has a 13 megapixel rear camera! The battery life is something I will testify for, it has a 64 GB memory, and as if it wasn’t amazing enough, let me tell you about the Selfie Expert camera.

It has a dual selfie camera, which is the best thing my selfies could’ve asked for. That is like my first parameter when I’m buying a new phone, because I click a lot of pictures and selfies and I would obviously want them to look as best as they can. The phone has a selection of modes for solo pictures and group pictures, so that you can get that perfect Diwali shot with you and your loved ones.

I know that the OPPO F3 comes in other colours, too, but if you’re looking to make a bold statement and be stylish, gift yourself some love by getting the red OPPO F3 Diwali edition, because this phone gets a BIG thumbs up from me!

The phone can be found on Amazon at the price of ₹18,990 only. #YourBestDiwaliGift #OPPOF3

Celebrating Diwali with Max Fashion

It’s almost organic, the way I create my looks. I don’t like to take too much time to decide what I like. For instance, the minute I saw this simple yet striking white dress from Max Fashion, I knew it had ‘me’ written all over it! Yet, given the season, and my love for layering, I needed something to top it, as it were. I found the perfect length and style in the black jacket you see me wearing here.

I like to find some ‘connection’ between the separates I choose. So the hint of red tribal embroidery on the jacket finds a colour throw-off in the red motifs in the front of the dress. I love the detailing on the jacket, the pull-back buttoned sleeves, the pocket – I just love pockets! Way to go this Diwali season.

While I love to be stylish – and so my high heel nudes which I thought would be the perfect foil to the ensemble – I would never compromise on comfort. I believe fashion and comfort can co-exist happily. The dress and the jacket are in breathe-able fabric and flow easily, nothing too body-hugging for me.

The chunky silver jewellery completes my look. And with festivity in the air, I had to reflect the reds on my lipcolour! Hope you like my look and get inspired to check out the treasures at Max Fashion this season!

See you,

Just Veet It

I never really enjoyed things that took up too much of my time, especially if it was about getting ready. Making spa appointments, making a shopping list and planning an entire day around getting every item checked, waiting in line for train tickets, etc. It left me feeling like I had no time left to actually do something productive with my day, you know? I’m so glad that I grew up just when technology was beginning to really pick up, because now nearly everything can be done within the comfort of my own house, and lightning fast. It gives me a rush to realize that I’ve finished my monthly shopping with just a few taps on a shopping website, or ordered groceries for the week through an app.

Everything is so much quicker, so why should basic beauty needs take time and effort? Thanks to Veet, going to the salon for hair removal is history for me.

Their new electric trimmer is a time-saver. It comes with 2 trimming heads, combs, a brush and a beauty pouch, only at ₹2250! You can also use it to shape your eyebrows, to clear your upper lips and even your sidelocks without having to worry about any dark patches or thick, hard hair. It has a bit of a learning curve so you have to be careful and mindful of how and where you use it the first few times, but after that it works like a charm. If you have a speedy hair growth, it won’t be a problem because the new Veet electric trimmer is easy to use no matter where you go. You can find it on any of your online shopping websites, and at any store near you.

Veet’s instant waxing kit is another of their products that is a blessing in disguise. It is available for the three different types of skin, which are dry, sensitive, and normal. My skin type is normal and I am so happy with this product because I don’t have to rush to the beauty parlour for waxing (especially when it’s on short notice)! And it is really simple to use – you just need to have clean hands as a prerequisite. Just press the waxing strip down on the area of the hair growth and pull it in the opposite direction of the growth in one swift and fast motion. They’ve even provided post-waxing wipes in the Veet instant waxing kit to use on the freshly hairless skin to soothe you and that is all. You’re good to go, and only at the small price of ₹99!

Finally, but equally utilitarian, is the Veet hair removal cream. These also come for varying skin types. There’s a small spatula in this pack that you use to layer the hair removal cream on your skin, leave it on for 3 minutes (no more than that), and using the edge of the spatula, scrape the cream off of your skin gently. Give your skin a wash after this procedure, and voila! Smooth and hairless skin without any of the pain and agony of waxing! I use the Veet hair removal cream for my legs and I swear by it completely.

I have personally used each of these products and I can promise you that I have had a side-effect-free experience. There are no dark patches or hard hair for me. In fact, my skin actually feels softer after using Veet’s products. I would suggest that you get to understand your skin type and then choose your product accordingly so that it suits your skin and transforms you into the best version of you.

Styling Game with Max For EML

I know I haven’t been posting regularly on my blog, but let me tell you a little secret: my blog is getting revamped! I am so excited for you guys to see what it is going to look like when it goes live. I promise you there will be a lot of awesome things coming up.

For those of you who aren’t yet following me on Instagram (please do, @caughtinthecuff), I went to Goa with Max Fashion for the EML Grand Finale. Before the trip, I had to style two of the EML Mumbai phase winners, and the looks I went for were minimal and basic. I like to have a simple, toned down style with just a bit of embellishment to really make a statement, so that is what I went ahead with.

For Shubhangana, I picked a pair of white cropped pants with a black crop top, and she chose a black jacket to go with it. We selected shoes to finish her look.

We went for plain grey trousers and a simple t-shirt for Bobby, and accessorised his look with a cap to give it a casual touch.

Both my models were so shy in front of the camera, but their shots were perfection. It was Bobby Mandhyan and Shubhangana Raje’s first ever photo shoot, so guiding them and supporting them created a really good and strong between us. I had such a great time being so involved in the Max Fashion EML Grand Finale, and the opportunity they gave me to style these models was such a motivating and satisfying experience!

The event was totally lit and every model was admirable in her style and her poise. It was so inspiring! With Goa as the backdrop of the Grand Finale, I think they outdid themselves and made quite the splash with such a grand event.

Our Phone is the first thing we see in the morning; this pretty well sums up its significance! They are completely intertwined with every activity we indulge in, be it travelling to a new location, finding a new restaurant, communicating within our social circles, and so much more. I’m sure some of you are reading this blog post on your phones! I love how everything is so much more accessible because of smartphones, but deciding which one is the best match for you is so confusing. Availability of wide options turns the entire process more complex! Every phone has different set of features to offer and they’re all so tempting and useful, it makes my head spin.

Recently I got my hands on the new LG G6 phone and after a long time I came across a phone I think is AWESOME. The G6 clearly pushes the Korean brand to the forefront of the smartphone pile in terms of design and screen. G6 earns high marks for ergonomic design. The front and back panels are colored Platinum Ice, which I personally believe is very unique. It has the Full Vision display, and the screen is taller while not being wider, which makes using two apps side by side a lot easier.

Rather than the typical 16:9 aspect, LG has opted for an 18:9 ratio display—so the phone is going to be the new favourite for wide angle photographers. The dual cameras are now both 13 mp in resolution. Zoom transition between the two cameras is smooth.

To edit the content I capture, LG G6 comes with editing features that helps me publish faster. The GIF Creator allows me to create GIF with still photos or on videos. Also there is Quick Video Editor, a feature which was introduced in the G5, to quickly generate video highlights (up to 60 seconds) out of a single long video. Then there is the new Square Camera mode that lets you capture square images with 4 creative ways: Match shot, Snap shot, grid shot and guide shot.

G6 is one of the few smartphones that are certified IP68. Because the phone is water-resistant-- so I can wash the phone if it gets soiled. There are plenty of customisable features within the phone’s interface itself.

I doubt there’s any other smartphone that can match up to the LG G6 in terms of the right balance between price, performance, features, and style, so if you’re looking to invest in a phone that can double as your best buddy, don’t even hesitate to get this one!

OPPO F3- Selfie Expert :D

As a fashion blogger, it is a prerequisite for me to look good and in style at all times. There can be no compromise in my attire because there are public appearances to make and photo shoots to carry out so often. I like to do these things, you know? I like looking like the best version of myself, because it makes me feel good. And when it comes down to pictures, I like it when my phone actually captures the beauty and doesn’t magnify the flaws. But it’s a camera, and it’s not made to make me look flawless.

Or is it?

While I held this opinion for a long time, and also held a secret grudge against phone cameras that made me wish for better lighting all the time, OPPO was up to something that poses as a god-sent boon to me. The new OPPO  F3, in its glorious black version, is a very classy-looking phone with a dual selfie camera with AMAZING quality pictures as output. I’ve put up pictures on my Instagram (caughtinacuff) of me unboxing this Selfie Expert phone. The phone fits comfortably in the hands and the design is sleek. The OPPO F3 has a special and exclusive camera feature called the Beauty mode, which enhances the look of skin when taking selfies. There is also a blur mode which helps create a sort of bokeh effect when the picture is clicked with the primary camera.

Honestly, though, I can go on and on about how much I love the OPPO F3 mainly for its dual front camera and how it makes me look so pretty all the time, no matter when I decide to take a selfie. I absolutely love this phone and I can’t wait to post the hundreds of pictures I’ve taken of myself on this phone already! Enjoy the pictures :)

Call For A Repeat

Warning: This post is only for those above the age of 21!I'm kidding!

This is a fresh, different post from everything you've been reading on here, since this is the first time I'm going to talk to you guys about alcohol. I've decided to start a new section where I want to talk about food and drinks to all of you, and I'm working on setting this up officially very soon.

There's a new whisky in town! It's called Repeat, and I tried it only recently. Trust me, it isn't something you want to miss. I know how whisky isn't really known as a feminine drink, but just hear me out, okay? You'll change your mind once you try it for sure.

So whisky comes in various types, from American, English, Scotch, and Swedish, to Canadian, German, Danish and many, many more. The word 'whisky' loosely translates to 'water of life', and that's not something I'd argue with. 'Scotch', though, is the internationally recognized term for whisky. It is a strong spirit, but it goes very well with mixed drinks.

I tried a bunch of cocktails, and they were so yum! I took a chance with Repeat by the Bay, Melon Julep, Whisk-tea, Repeat Your Spice, Nutcracker, Rosky-Whisky, and Choco-Repeat. They were such refreshing and new cocktails, and not one of them was disappointing. The flavours were new to me and absolutely tasty.

You can have all your doubts and qualms about whisky being a gender-specific, but until you try Repeat, you will really never know how much of a perfect drink it is, regardless of any stereotypes.

So long, and catch you guys later!

Colouring my hair has always been a very exciting experience for me. I absolutely love my hair and I really enjoy playing around with it. I was confused about what colour to pick for my hair, honestly, but I knew it would have to be a shade of brown.

I visited the L’Oreal Professional Academy, where my stylist went ahead and helped me out by picking the colour platinum brown, and he suggested I try the new L’Oreal Professionnel product called SMARTBOND.

L’Oreal  Professionnel SMARTBOND is a unique system that protects and strengthens the hair during technical services such as bleach and haircolour. Your hair's fibers become sensitized from overusing hot tools, from bleaching, or from previously dying your hair a different colour, so it's important to take precautions when getting your hair dyed a new shade. SMARTBOND lets your hairstylist safely colour your hair, giving you reassurance that you're in good hands. SMARTBOND helps strengthen broken bonds that already exist in your hair and also protects your locks during the bleaching and colouring process. Your hair's fibres will be healthy and the new colour will look bright and beautiful!

When I learnt about this, I was super eager to try it out. It was the perfect product for me because I love my hair and I wouldn’t want hair colouring to damage the quality of my hair. I gave my stylist the thumbs up for SMARTBOND, and he mixed it into my hair colour. We went through the entire process of hair colouring. Even though the shade of brown was similar to what my hair was before, I totally loved the results because my hair looked more nourished, it felt soft and silky, and it made me feel really confident about how I look.

If you’ve been hesitant about colouring your hair and are worried about how much damage it’ll do to your hair quality, this is a sign. Take it from me, go ahead and try that hair colour you’ve been eyeing at for weeks, and make sure you use the SMARTBOND procedure. It’ll save your hair a lot of damage and acts as the perfect partner for your hair colour! Enjoy the pictures :D

See you,
Riya Jain
