Giles at Koovs

Hello lovely people,

Saturday is hereeee! And we never run out of reasons to party, so here is giving you one more. If you are following me on Instagram, few days back I was promoting GilesAtKoovs on my handle. Koovs recently got Giles on board and his collection does wonders. I wasn't a Giles follower but am very happy to be donning his favorites for us. Also, I've mentioned my love for Koovs earlier and I stick by to it when i say that there is no other website providing such exclusivity along with keeping the collection high street and fun.

While selecting the outfit I thought I would go with a maxi skirt which I loved but when I came across the heels collection, I knew it was something I would want to Blog about. I went with the Bow Detail Platform Sandals that were statement and trendy. In addition, I then picked this embellished skirt, which had a very retro vibe to it. We normally go for prints but embellished clothing is surely worth a try. I then paired the outfit with a black crop top and a sling to go. I didn't need accessories as the skirt and shoes were speaking for ensemble.

I agree when they say that GILES AT KOOVS Collection gives your wardrobe a glamorous update. They have a huge range of standout dresses to statement separates, the luxurious edit that takes you seamlessly from day to night. It promises vibrant prints, embellished details, sleek silhouettes, and metallic hues making it all chic. Moreover, I'm grateful that I've gotten the opportunity to work with the brands I personally love and hope to do justice to the rendezvous. See you all on the other side with some Fringe options.

Summer Florals

Hello there,

This post is finally getting featured on the Blog. This is cause of two reasons, firstly I had prior commitments, and secondly I was lazy. I have been associated with Lakme School of Style for a while now and the Vloggers were supposed to have a session with Karan Johar (I look not so good in the only picture I have with him)

I met Nilu at this event; she is so positive and full of life. Unless you’re living under a rock, you know that she has a renowned blog by the name Big Hair Loud Mouth. She is from Bangalore and has amazing energy to work with. She happened to have a stay near my place, which had us making a lunch plan, but we ended up agreeing to have a shoot instead. She had limited options as she was travelling but it perfectly fit for the theme I was looking for. I coordinated on the floral outfits but the shoes and accessories were a complete co-incidence!

It was supposed to be a ready for summer look but I guess now I can pass it off as how my summer went by They were my essentials like everyone this season and the outfits had a good vibe I felt. She was wearing something slightly flowy so I decided to go with a bodycon with my favourite back detailing. I chose oxfords for comfort and a holographic sling to go with it. Reflector sunnies have been another essential, which went with the look.

I absolutely love Nilu’s work and it is always so edgy. She experiments with her hair and if you’re following her it was clearly back when she was a brunette. You guys have to check her out if you haven’t. Also, I really feel like these more experienced Bloggers are so on point with everything. She actually posted this look just as she got back in Bangalore and here I am. Any who, I am happy to have worked with her and shared this summer look with you guys. Do let me know your thoughts on the shoot. We had a LOT of fun shooting it, spent most of our time giggling and jumping around(literally). Also, due credit for the editing, the pictures turned out gorgeous!

I will see you guys super soon.

Celebrating 20K! Yaye!

Hello beautiful people,

The crux of this post is to thank you guys endlessly in supporting me throughout my journey. 20,000 followers is probably not a big deal in today's time. And for a fact, it is not even about the number, but to know that so many of you think I'm worth following and keeping up with my updates. Every like and comment means a lot.

I think I speak for all bloggers that had it not been for you guys, we would have not gotten most of the opportunities to work on brands and we're growing only cause of your support. I have not followed Lilly Singh's channel but I did go for the Superwoman's concert and I got so much positivity. And to see how grateful she is for everything makes me feel the same.

I like celebrating every little occasion and this shoot is kind of a throwback but it seemed like the right occasion to bring out the unpublished. I've always wanted to shoot at Asiatic Library and this ball gown did complete justice to it. Such heavy outfits aren't things that people have in abundance but special occasions call out for them. I believe wedding receptions are slowly evolving and gowns are the IT thing now. And if not, then there are always cocktail parties.

Owning one of these has a good feeling in itself. And dressing up for any occasion, keeping one statement jewellery and skipping the rest of the pieces complements the ensemble flawlessly. I went for the earrings that had a tinge of red, a cuff on my arm and a basic pair of black strappy heels. I hope you guys like this look. Only if something like Princess Diaries happened to any of us and wearing these would be a part of the routine. #UnrealisticDreaming #WhyNot :)

Much love,
Riya Jain.

Saturday Night Look + Tips :)

Hellooooo,

Don't we all love to party? I wish I could party every night but that's not very realistic. However, every Saturday night I go out with friends or family trying to make the most out of the weekend. And obviously the big question here is "What do I wear?". That's one never-changing dilemma every girl faces before going out. More than the process of getting dressed, the decision of what to wear is a stress, rather time consuming. In this post, I am sharing a few tips on what can be worn during parties, dinners, and night outs.

If you are going out for dinner then you can wear a formal dress or a casual outfit with a sharp blazer. You can even wear jeans, a nice shirt and tag few accessories. While you are out for dinner, you can't wear something shiny or sequin cause you don't want to go OTT. Work on the lines of something fancy yet subtle. Heels are a big yes for all these occasions. In addition, if you are short like me, you should swear by it!

If you are going for a party then you can wear a short skirt with a tucked in top or a crop top. I love dresses with cut out backs as they make good showstoppers. Some people are not comfortable with short clothes, for which long maxi fancy dresses or jeans with a fancy top plays saviour. Capes too can be worn for parties, satin ones will structure beautifully for such events.

If you are going to a lounge or a club, you can pull out all the bling where there is no need to hold back. You can have the sequin or shimmer in the accessories and bags or the clothing. Make sure there is a balance and subtlety even with an embellished ensemble.

This was exactly what I wore last Saturday night as I headed to Santé in Bandra which happens to be one of my favourite places. I loved the dress and the drape fit with the high low effect. I received it from Pink Feather and tagged my new sling from Bag Your Way. Do check them out onInstagram and Facebook.

Black was my go-to colour this weekend and I donned a golden belt after what seemed like forever. Putting together this look was easy peasy and has been a staple in my wardrobe. Do tell me your thoughts on the dress and your party favourites.

Until next time,
Riya Jain

Vastra: Brunch & Dinner Looks 2.0

Hello beautiful people,

Today I’m back with another brunch and party look for you all. Vastra by Milonee has effortlessly made it to one of my favourite offline stores. She has got it all, exactly how I can manage to do diverse looks with Vastra on the Blog. The clothes are edgy and suit all outings.

I wanted to do another Bruch look and she had something similar to my last brunch post look. And I was very tempted to do that but I came across this dress and wondered that such dresses have been a part of my closet for a while now and earlier they would be for special occasions, but now they are my go-to even for day meetings or brunches. The mesh detailing has been an on-going trend and this cute whitey with the floral sling went quite well.

For the next look, I put together this strapy crop with crochet detailing at the lower part and this tulle pastel skirt for the night. I think it assures a cute element with the pink and black combo. I picked black accessories for this look and resorted to my Koovs black heels with golden accents to seal the deal. The box sling is from Bag Your Way which I've tagged in a lot of recent outings and it even added just the right vibe to this outfit. They have a well contemplated collection for your party and other looks. You could find them on Instagram for more details.
