Lights, Colors a Lot more

Dress- Aarya, Clutch- Snazzy, Maangtikka- Designed by me,
Rings-Lokhandwala, Earrings- Stole from best friend's closet

Firstly, wishing you all a very Happy Diwali and a pleasant New Year. Hope you all had an amazing one filled with a lot of happiness. Every year I wait for Diwali 'cause this festival has so much to offer. All the pretty lights, colours, and another reason to go shopping.
I personally own very few Indian pieces and to be very honest, I am always confused when it comes to Indian wear.
I am always in awe of all the Lehngas and Anarkalis but whenever I actually step out to shop, it is difficult to choose just one, I end up liking a lot of it.
Since a long time, I wanted to own a dhoti style ethnic wear and I really love the way how the sides have a fall to it and it give a very fancy yet traditional look.
So I decided to hunt for one, this Diwali.
While i started shopping, one of the first stores was Aarya, in Lokhandwala Market. The guy started to walk me through their collection when I described him what I was looking for and then he pulled out this amazing attire of navy blue with beige (I had picked a similar shade for my Birthday night as well).
I was lovestruck and i knew i was going to be a proud owner of this one, though it came at a price.
I loved the colour combination and it had some beautiful golden work on it. It was simple yet classy. The beige bottom was so flowy and gave me a royal feel. For accessories, I wore a maang tikka as i wanted to keep the look completely Indian and stole these lovely earrings from my best friend's closet.

Saree gown- 5halfnmore, Cuff- Gift, Earrings- Forever21

Saree gown is something you resort to when you can't set your mind whether you want to go for Indian or western this festive season.
That is exactly what always goes down with me every year and finally I've been introduced to it by 5nhalfnmore which helped to westernise the look.
I wore it yesterday for BhaiDhuj and it was really comfortable and it gave a very lady-like feeling. Again, the colour worked well, pinkish-beige was something I've adored. I have noticed beige does wonders when put together with any other colour. It is very neutral and blends easily. I wore a cuff and earrings for the final touch. You can also see their collection on Instagram.
Do let me know what you wore for this Diwali and tag with #caughtinacuff. I hope these festivities bring a lot of joy in your lives and be sure spread some to others as well.

Playing With Accessories

Don't we all have those days when we want to wear all the accessories in our sight? I certainly do.
Most of the times I'm far away from going sublte, cause if allowed, I'd pull together a choker, some rings, earrings, a cuff or two, all at once! People would question me being a fanatic, and i am guilty as charged :D. Some of you guys have asked me about the gifts I received on my big day. Well I have got a lot of accessories, bags, heels, and clothes and I will soon be sharing the pictures on Instagram.

I feel accessories play a really important part to complete an ensemble and it definitely makes somebody look at you more than once. I am a hoarder but I like to surprise myself by being a little subtle on accessories once in a while. I feel a little too much of it could be a spoiler, so when you plan to dress up with a simple outfit, take a leap of faith with a little detailing or let the outfit do the job instead, to seal the deal
For an occasion, you might want to go with statement earrings or a choker to glam it up.
While I was shooting for this look, I couldn't set my mind to go with the earrings or the neck piece. I've personally concluded that there are very less times when I've worn both. They usually tend to make a mess unless perfectly picked. So I devised a solution and decided to work on both and show you guys how either could crank up the look.

Look 1-
I decided to go with the earrings first and played around with the hair. I even tagged a few rings and a cuff.
Currently I am obsessing over thumbs rings and it has become a part of my everyday jewellery (My obsessions are never ending.)

Midi Skirt-Dresshouse, Corset- Redress, Rings- Qup
Earrings- Blur, Cuff- Lokhandwala Market,
Bag- Madishthestylebar, Heels- China

Look 2-
For the second look I haven't made any drastic changes but replaced the earrings with the Blur choker which speaks for itself. I think both can work well on having worn right.

Choker- Blur, Cuff- Lokhandwala Market,
Bag- Madishthestylebar, Heels- China

Anyway, my post with a midi skirt was pending and this side chained bodycon from DressHouse made the cut. You could catch them on Instagram and Facebook to for similar stuff. When I tried the midi skirt, I was looking for a loud crop top or a top to actually make a look out of it and my mustard yellow corset fit the bill as i didn't want to make it look formal. I wanted to carry my favourite new nude studded bag(which was a self picked gift) and had to go with same toned heels as well.

Don't forget to comment below to let me know which look you liked the better and do tag me and #CaughtInACuff to share your statement stories. I'm sure I would too have something to learn and could probably try something new next time!

Love, Riya

21 & All That

Dress- Redress, Bag- Snazzy, Heels- Flipkart, Head Tiara- Lieben Store,
Earrings- Blur

Hello there ,

I'm really happy which is going to lead to this post being a little longer than usual because I really want to share every little detail with you guys about my birthday.

As some of you may know, I turned 21 last Wednesday. To be very honest this was one of my best birthdays ever. My friends planned it just like a roller coaster ride. I was amazed at every part as my day passed. I loved every bit of it.
Lets start with 7th midnight. I was out for dinner with family and i knew some of my friends would come to wish me at midnight .As soon as i reached my building, I bumped into few of my friends. It was so funny, I can't explain! They ran out when they saw me and I knew they were coming up to wish me. I still reached home to a living room full of balloons and pictures and a lot of yummy cakes to hog on, thanks to my other friends who lit up the place so beautifully. I was made to wear a crown and fairy wings which started my princess treatment and the rest of the night ended with a lot of pictures and pampering.

On the 8th noon, my birthday lunch was a surprise though it felt more like I was getting kidnapped :P I wanted to go to a nice pretty place so keeping that in mind I was taken to Villa 69 which complemented so well with my outfit. As I entered I saw these prettily wrapped humongous gift boxes and 21 white balloons. They caught me off guard. It looked so unreal that I even shook them to check if there really were presents in them :P It was all so surreal. All my friends made me feel so special and the set up was everything of  how I wanted my birthday blog to be. I can't thank them enough. And not to forget, it also fulfilled my forever wish to shoot in the lovely decor at Villa 69. Anyway, while we were lunching, my other friends set up more gifts in my room. I got home and excitedly ripped open all these amazing presents, pictures of which I will be soon sharing with you guys (Only I know how I waited for the shoot to get done :D )

Anyway, I wanted to go with an all white OOTD so I picked this cute white short dress from Redress after what seemed like an endless search. Along with it, I tagged this white tote from Snazzy and the pretty floral tiara from Lieben store. I ended up wearing a little bit of gold and beige as well.

Snazzy is a pretty shop in Lokhandwala market that has a range of fancy bags and shoes. You can even follow them on Instagram and Facebook as they have some really crazy offers coming up. You should definitely visit their shop as they are my personal favourites when I'm looking for something new to hoard.

Returning to my big day, it was all very dreamy and my friends set up a perfect day for me. I threw a house party for my friends, had some crazy time and danced till we dropped. I ended my 21st Birthday with all my close friends and everything was just how I planned in my head.

As I turned 21, with all the gifts coming my way, I thought I should get you guys a little something too as a thank you for being so loving and always encouraging my work. The winners of the first giveaway will win the stuff in the picture below, which includes similar floral crowns like the one I'm wearing from Lieben Store, which has a lot of cute accessories.
